About Me
My name is Yaniv Stopnitzky.
I am an applied econometrician and data scientist who loves using data — big and small — to better understand human behavior.
I have managed international research projects collecting quantitative and structured qualitative data from thousands of rural households. I have also led research projects using hundreds of billions of observations from satellite data to study how fluctuations in local economic conditions impact poor families.
As a devoted empiricist, I answer questions with the best experimental, quasi-experimental, and machine learning/AI methods for the task. And as a human, I strive to use these tools to shape policies and products that improve human lives.
